Located in the centre of the island, the campsite is reached by the RN200 major road if you are coming from Figari, Porto-Vecchio, Aléria or Bastia, by the RN193 major road if you are coming from Bastia, Calvi, Ile Rousse or Ajaccio or by Forest minor Road no.9 if you are coming from Porto.
Location of local hiking trails
The campsite is situated on the banks of the Restonica, one of the two rivers which feed Corte and which flows from the valley of the same name, one of the 22 large protected nature reserves of France. The absence of traffic other than that in the campsite makes it particularly quiet.
In high summer, the coolness of the centuries-old olive trees make the nights very pleasant compared with sites by the sea. Although the campsite is situated by a river, there are no mosquitoes, unlike in other areas.
The Restonica Valley: 17 kms of (regulated traffic) roads before arriving at the Grotelle sheep pens, the terminus and the starting point for the hike to the Melo and Capitello Lakes which are the most visited of the seven mountain lakes in the region and which each involve some difficulty. Just 300m away is the starting point for the hiking trails of the Tavignano Valley, with the possibility of connecting with the GR20 trans-Corsica hiking trail or climbing the Monte Cinto in the Niolu area.
Location of the central Corsican hiking trails
